Welcome to our website.

Tatting and Design was founded in 1997 by Lyn and Mike Morton and was the first Company to offer to customers in the U.K. the high quality Turkish threads from Altin Basak and Oren Bayan both of Istanbul. Following the launch of the original T & D website retail orders from around the world arrived regularly and it was not long before other businesses from far and wide were seeking supplies.

T & D increased its range of stocks to include books, shuttles and other accessories. With the help of an engineer friend the famous T & D shuttle winder was developed and has become a “must have” tool for many Tatters worldwide.

Lyn has been a Tatter for years, she has taught many people to Tat and using her design skills published a number of books and patterns. She holds a monthly workshop class at her home, gives talks and demonstrations to local groups and continues to support the Ring of Tatters when required.

Many Crafters have found that the range of threads stocked by Tatting & Design, whilst always aimed at Tatters, is equally good for other applications and the company has expanded its customer base by setting up another website called Threads Galore http://www.threadsgalore.co.uk in an effort to indicate that it is not just another Tatting supplies business.
